Chapter 01 — The Struggle
I was hiding behind my foundation every single day.
Growing up in Canada, I struggled with dark spots, uneven skin tone, and a sensitive, compromised skin barrier. I tried everything — drugstore products, expensive department store creams, dermatologist prescriptions. Nothing worked consistently, and many products made my sensitivity worse.
For years, I didn't feel confident enough to leave the house without a full face of makeup. Foundation became my shield. I didn't know what it felt like to be comfortable in my own bare skin.
Then, a friend introduced me to Korean skincare. The layering approach, the gentle actives, the focus on hydration and barrier repair — it was a completely different philosophy. And it worked.
Chapter 02 — The Discovery
Korean skincare changed everything.
Within weeks of starting a Korean skincare routine, I noticed real change. My dark spots began to fade. My skin barrier felt calmer, more resilient. For the first time in years, I stepped outside without makeup — and I felt beautiful.
But I noticed something: the products that worked best weren't always vegan, and many used ingredients I wasn't comfortable with. I wanted the power of K-beauty science with clean, vegan, sustainably sourced ingredients.
That's when the idea for LUMIQO was born — a brand that would combine Korean skincare innovation with clean beauty values. I just needed to find the right lab.

I packed my bags and flew to Seoul.
I knew that if I wanted to create truly exceptional K-beauty formulas, I had to go to the source. So I did. I flew to Seoul, South Korea — the global capital of skincare innovation — and began searching for the right laboratory partner.
It wasn't easy. I visited dozens of labs, tested hundreds of formulations, and had countless conversations with Korean cosmetic scientists. I was looking for partners who shared my values: clean ingredients, vegan formulas, and uncompromising efficacy.
After two years of development, I found them. Together, we created four targeted serums — each one addressing the exact skin concerns I had personally struggled with. LUMIQO was born.
